Gardening Australia – Tino interviews Kate

Last year, Kate was contacted by the ABC to consider a visit by “Gardening Australia“.  Of course, Kate was keen to talk about one of her great passions and agreed to film a segment of the show on “Seed Saving”.

Tino Carnevale conducted the interview and, all in all, there was almost six hours work to produce a five minute segment on the show!  Tino is great to work with and seems to share many similar ideas to Kate.

If you get a chance to watch the show, we hope that you might be inspired to grow and save your own seeds too.

Here is a link to the ABC’s fact sheet which contains the transcript and video.  The show went to air on Saturday May 4, 2013.

Tania from Rae’s Florist did floral arrangements and explained which vase to use for each arrangement.

I provided advice on how to make sourdough bread in conjunction with tastings.  I demonstrated how to make the bread (with Four Leaf’s special 85% flour) and had sourdough kits, proving bowls, workshop vouchers and Patlin Gardens Olive Oil for purchase.

Seed Saving Workshop

This would have to be my favourite sort of workshop – where I can talk to interested people about one of my passions; seeds and seed-saving.

Permaculture Tasmania asked me to run a workshop about seed saving.

Here is a link to my post about the workshop, on Vegetable Vagabond with photos.

Late in 2012, I also did an interview on seed saving with Tino Carnevale on the ABC’s Gardening Australia.

That interview will screen on Saturday May 4 at 6.30pm.

Please contact me if you are interested in me being a keynote speaker or host of your event.

What else does the Garden Shed and Pantry do?

The last few days have been very busy as we (and a group of great friends) have been fine tuning the gardens here in readiness for a visit from the ABC TV show “Gardening Australia“.

The topic of the segment filmed here was “Seed Saving”.

Tino Carnevale and Albert, Julian and Scott arrived early and spent about six hours filming for a five minute segment on the show! It really was hard work but Tino is great to work with and seems to share many similar ideas to Kate.
