Comes the first real frost of the year and your mind turns to …… porridge!
Not just any porridge though.
We have come up with what we think is a great porridge.
Recipe ingredients for 2 (hungry) people:
2 small to medium apples (shredded)
1/2 cup of Four Leaf Rolled Oats
1/2 cup of Quinoa (don’t forget it has to be washed)
1 cup of milk
1 cup of water
Fruit to please (we usually add blueberries or MRO sultanas)
1 banana, sliced
Method:
Put all the ingredients (except the banana) in to a large saucepan. Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat so that it is simmering.
Let it simmer for 10 minutes and then add the banana.
Simmer for another 10 minutes and serve.
Serve with hot milk (and Orange Blossom honey if you need it to be sweeter).
